Carrying Astra's Subsidiary, Darya Varia (DVLA) Launches Digital-Based Medical Devices
PT Darya Varia Laboratoria Tbk (DVLA) and PT Astra Komponen Indonesia (ASKI) have launched medical devices based on digital technology. These products are seen as strengthening the self-reliance of the national health sector. The launch took place at ASKI’s manufacturing facility and was officiated directly by the Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, on Wednesday (1/4/2026). Of the six medical devices launched by ASKI, two are the result of collaboration with Darya Varia, namely DiViLab Optima (4 in 1) and DiViLab Core (3 in 1). Darya Varia’s President Director, Ian Kloer, stated that the DiViLab Optima (4 in 1) device is Indonesia’s first multifunctional medical device that integrates blood pressure measurement (tensimeter), blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid in a single AI and IoT-based device, enabling more comprehensive, connected, and sustainable health monitoring. Meanwhile, DiViLab Core (3 in 1) offers a practical solution for accurate and efficient checks of blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid. “The collaboration with ASKI reflects our commitment to delivering domestic medical device innovations that are not only competitive but also relevant to the needs of Indonesian society,” said Ian Kloer in a press statement on Thursday (2/4/2026). Both devices are equipped with various features such as health trend monitoring to track health condition developments periodically. Then, AI predictive analytics to provide data-based insights and predictions, as well as caregiver support that allows family members or healthcare professionals to monitor the user’s condition in real-time. The development of DiViLab Optima and DiViLab Core represents a strategic step in introducing technology-based health monitoring solutions that support national health programmes, particularly in increasing awareness and access to self-screening. Since diversifying into the medical devices sector, ASKI has developed more than 30 types of products with a domestic component level (TKDN) of around 40-59 percent. This aligns with the positive trend in the increased use of domestic medical devices. Medical device products in Indonesia now have capabilities and reliability that can compete with, and are no less than, foreign products, both in terms of quality, technology, and usability reliability for healthcare professionals and the public. As a company continuously transforming into an integrated healthcare solution provider, Darya Varia ensures it plays a broader role in integrating pharmaceutical capabilities, technology, and data to deliver holistic health solutions. The collaboration also strengthens Darya Varia’s position as a partner of choice, not only in delivering products but also in building capabilities, accelerating the adoption of health technology, and creating long-term value for the national health system. In the future, Darya Varia and ASKI will continue to expand the development of digital technology-based medical device solutions to support improvements in access, quality, and sustainability of health services in Indonesia, in line with the national health transformation agenda.
