Carita Residents Hold Joint Prayer for Journalists and Ship Crew
Pandeglang (ANTARA) - Residents of Sukarame Village, Carita District, Pandeglang Regency, held a religious recitation and joint prayer at the Carita Marina Pier on Friday night as an effort to provide moral support to the families of journalists and ship crew members who remain missing.
During the event, residents expressed their appreciation and gratitude to Banten Governor Andra Soni and all elements of the Joint SAR Team who continue to conduct search operations. One of the missing individuals is a resident of Sukarame Village, Heriyant Bonsai, who is known to be a ship guide.
The Head of RT 20/005 Sukarame Village, Adhari Alis, stated that the community appreciates the attention and support provided by the government and all parties involved in the search operations over the last four days. The community is praying for the best so that the journalists and ship crew can be found safe.
“We express our deepest gratitude to the Governor of Banten, the Joint SAR Team, the TNI, the Polri, and volunteers who have been focused on searching for our brother Heriyanto, whom we locally call Bonsai,” said Adhari in Pandeglang.
Meanwhile, Sarifudin (72), a resident of Shanghiang Village, Sukarame, said that the community has been routinely praying for the victims since the first night they heard news of the ship group’s disappearance.
“We are always waiting for our brothers who are being searched for. Every night, since Wednesday night, we have been performing joint prayers in our respective prayer rooms. We have been praying for three nights straight,” said Sarifudin.
Carita Police Chief Supandi, who was also present, invited the community to pray for the safety of the five journalists and ship crew, as well as for the health and strength of the personnel involved in the search operation.
“Tonight, we are focusing on sending prayers for safety, and also for the Joint SAR Team to be granted health and strength in carrying out the search mission,” said Supandi.
The Banten Provincial Government continues to provide support for the search process conducted by the Joint SAR Team. This support is part of Governor Andra Soni’s commitment to ensuring the government is present in handling emergency conditions and providing support to families awaiting news.
Entering the fourth day, search operations continue with the involvement of various agencies. The community hopes that government support and the hard work of the Joint SAR Team will yield results and that all victims are found safe.
