Caring Friday: Polda Metro Jaya Distributes Groceries to Ride-Hailing Drivers and Daily Workers
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Polda Metro Jaya held the Caring Friday event by distributing 500 grocery packages to the community in front of the Polda Metro Jaya Promoter Building in Jakarta, specifically to online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers and daily casual workers who operate daily in the Polda Metro Jaya environment. “This activity is a tangible manifestation of the Indonesian National Police’s concern for the community, especially those who work in the field every day to meet their living needs,” said the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Police Commissioner Budi Hermanto, in his statement in Jakarta on Friday. He explained that the social assistance is expected to help ease the burden on residents while also strengthening the relationship between the Indonesian National Police and the community. The Caring Friday programme, he said, is part of the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to continue being present among the people, not only in carrying out security maintenance and law enforcement duties, but also through social actions whose benefits can be directly felt. “Through the Caring Friday activity, we want to show that the Indonesian National Police not only carries out law enforcement duties, but is also present to share and provide attention to the community,” Budi stated. “Polda Metro Jaya also urges the public not to hesitate to use the 110 police services if they need assistance, information, or want to report security disturbances in their area,” Budi revealed. He hopes that the assistance will provide benefits and help meet the needs of the ojol drivers and daily casual workers.
