Cargoes tightly controlled in Dili
DILI, East Timor: Head of the local customs and excise office
Soenarno has said that his office would tighten the flow of
cargoes in the region as there have been indications of attempts
to smuggle out products from the region to neighboring islands,
Antara reported.
He cited that several months ago customs officers foiled an
illegal shipment of sandalwood to Surabaya.
Although a customs check is not required for shipment between
islands, the customs office has the right to investigate
suspicious goods. (pwn)
