Car Park Attendant Kusmiah Foils Rp3.6 Billion Robbery, Receives Police Commendation
Brebes Police Chief AKBP Lilik Ardhiansyah visited the home of Kusmiah in Bojong Village, Jatibarang District, Brebes Regency, on Thursday (18/6/2026). Kusmiah successfully foiled an attempted robbery worth Rp3.6 billion in the Ahmad Yani Street area of Brebes, Central Java.
The Brebes Police Chief handed over assistance in the form of basic food packages and a token of appreciation for Kusmiah’s courage and concern in helping to prevent a crime. Additionally, the Brebes Police will present an award to Kusmiah, which is planned to be officially conferred during the 80th Bhayangkara Day Commemoration Ceremony on 1 July 2026.
Kusmiah is the backbone of her family, working as a parking attendant and drinks seller in Brebes City. Every day, she must travel approximately 12 kilometres from her home in Bojong Village to her workplace. She often walks to the main road to find transport to Brebes City.
Lilik stated that Kusmiah’s actions are a tangible example of community concern for environmental security. “She is a humble figure with a big heart. Her courage, honesty, and concern should be an example for all of us. Our presence here is a form of appreciation and respect for her contribution in helping to maintain public safety. We will also present an award at the 80th Bhayangkara Day Ceremony as a token of appreciation for the noble act she has performed,” said Lilik.
Deputy Brebes Police Chief Kompol Ryke Rahmadhila added that Kusmiah’s character proves the values of goodness. “We see extraordinary sincerity from Kusmiah. She is not only brave but also has a high level of concern for others. May her exemplary conduct inspire the community to continue fostering social awareness and courage in helping to maintain environmental security,” said Ryke.
