Car Gets Stuck Near UI Campus, Jakarta-Bound Traffic Gridlocked

A vehicle became stuck on the ring road access route around Universitas Indonesia (UI) in Depok. The incident caused traffic heading towards Jakarta to become gridlocked.

According to the Instagram account of the Depok Metropolitan Police Traffic Unit, the Isuzu Panther vehicle became trapped after two sections on its right side slipped off the road where there was a difference in elevation.

“This morning, precisely beneath the UI overpass heading towards Jakarta, before the bus stop, a car got stuck,” an officer reported, as seen by detikcom on the @lantasrestrodepok Instagram account on Thursday (19 February 2026).

The officer reported that traffic flow from the Depok direction towards Jakarta was experiencing congestion.

“So traffic is slow coming from the south,” he added.

Officers are currently working to bring in a tow truck to evacuate the vehicle.

There were no casualties in the incident. Meanwhile, conditions at the location this morning included moderate rainfall.
