Car Free Night During Takbiran Night Awaits Isbat Court Decision
Jakarta — Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that the planned Car Free Night event during takbiran night is still awaiting the results of the isbat court decision.
“Regarding the Car Free Night, there is indeed a slight dilemma, as the isbat court decision concerns whether it will be held on the 19th or 20th, and we are waiting for that. Hopefully it will be as expected,” said Pramono when met in Central Jakarta on Tuesday.
He assured that he would be present at the event together with Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno.
For the event, he stated that the Jakarta provincial government has prepared several activities.
“There will be various activities, the Governor and Deputy Governor will be present, along with all city hall staff, and of course there will be religious speakers, entertainment and so forth,” explained Pramono.
Previously, Pramono said the Jakarta provincial government plans to hold the Car Free Night during takbiran night along Sudirman-Thamrin Street.
As a result, private vehicles will be prohibited from passing along the street during the event.
Members of the public wishing to participate can use Transjakarta public transport.
For the event, the Jakarta provincial government will also present the Bedug Festival, featuring the 16 finalists from the Bedug Festival competition.
Additionally, a torch procession will be held. In this way, the public is expected to enjoy the evening leading up to Idul Fitri with joy.
