The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) has confirmed that the Car Free Day (CFD) will continue to be held throughout Ramadan 2026. The CFD will remain a weekly Sunday event along the Jalan Jenderal Sudirman-MH Thamrin corridor, subject to a number of special provisions.

"The CFD will still go ahead," said Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) head Syafrin Liputo to reporters on Saturday (21/2/2026).

Yayat Sudrajat, Head of the Control and Operations Division at the Jakarta Transportation Agency, explained that the holding of the CFD during Ramadan had been agreed upon by the entire CFD Working Team. He said the event would continue to run from 6am to 10am Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

"The holding of the CFD during Ramadan has been agreed by the entire CFD Working Team — the provincial-level CFD in DKI Jakarta will continue to be held every Sunday from 6am to 10am WIB," he said.

"With the stipulation that there will be no MSME street vendors and no event participants," he added.

Yayat urged the public to maintain cleanliness and order during the CFD throughout Ramadan. He also asked the public to comply with the existing rules of conduct.

"Such as not bringing pets, not distributing brochures or flyers and the like, and not discussing political or ethno-religious issues during activities," he said.

"Motor vehicles should be parked in the official parking areas provided, not on public roads," he added.
