Depok City’s Car Free Day (CFD) activities have been temporarily suspended for two weeks in preparation for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. The policy means that sports and recreational activities along Jalan Margonda Raya will not take place for two consecutive weeks.

Nita Hernita, Secretary of the Depok City Transportation Department, stated that the policy applies to Sundays 15 and 22 March 2026. The decision was made to provide residents with time to prepare for the festive season.

“In connection with preparations and celebrations for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, the Car Free Day (CFD) activities in Depok City are temporarily suspended on Sunday, 15 March 2026 and Sunday, 22 March 2026,” said Nita, as reported by the official Depok City Government website (14 March 2026).

According to her, the period leading up to Eid is typically when residents engage in various preparations, ranging from shopping for necessities to family activities. Nita also expressed appreciation to residents who have been actively participating in the CFD activities regularly held in Depok City.

“Happy Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. Please forgive us,” she said.

During CFD operations, the road section is temporarily closed to motor vehicles from 6:00 am to 9:00 am (Western Indonesia Time), allowing the public to use it for exercise, leisurely walking, and cycling.
