Car Crashes into Fence of Jusuf Kalla's Daughter's House in South Jakarta
A car driven by a woman identified by the initials HP (35) crashed into the fence of the residence belonging to the daughter of Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) on Jalan Brawijaya, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Wednesday morning (18 February).
“We did receive information about the incident involving the fence of that residence. It happened in the early hours, at around 3.45am Western Indonesian Time, if I’m not mistaken,” said South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Section Chief Senior Commissioner Murodih to reporters.
“The house belongs to Pak JK’s child,” Murodih said.
Separately, Jusuf Kalla’s spokesperson Husain Abdullah confirmed that the house belongs to JK’s daughter. “It’s not Pak JK’s house. It’s his daughter’s house,” he said.
Murodih did not elaborate on the full chronology of the incident. He only mentioned that the driver was on her way home to the Jagakarsa area at the time.
Murodih suspected the incident occurred because the driver fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle. The Hyundai Santa Fe she was driving ultimately crashed into the fence of the residence.
“The driver was probably drowsy, so she went out of control,” he said.
Murodih confirmed there were no casualties in the incident. He also said the driver would undergo mediation to arrange repairs for the damaged fence.
“The plan is for mediation to take place regarding the repair of the damage there,” he said.
