The case involving a car crashing into the fence of the residence belonging to Indonesia's 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK), has been resolved through mediation. The party responsible for the collision agreed to pay for the damage to the fence.

The incident occurred in the Kebayoran Baru area of South Jakarta on Wednesday (18 February) at approximately 03.45 Western Indonesian Time. The black fence struck by the SUV sustained considerable damage.

The fence was temporarily moved to the property's security post. Several iron bars on the fence had come loose, and the foundation stones supporting the fence had also been dislodged.

Shortly after the collision, the driver HP (35), who was behind the wheel of a Hyundai Santa Fe, requested that the matter be resolved through mediation. HP stated she was prepared to repair the damage to the fence caused by the crash.

**Case Resolved Through Mediation**

On the same day, the driver and representatives of JK's household conducted mediation. The outcome was an agreement that the driver's party would cover the cost of repairing the fence.

The collision was settled amicably and will not proceed to legal action. The case was closed as both parties reached an agreement during mediation.

"The interim result is that the party responsible for the collision wishes to repair the damage at the location," said South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Head, Senior Commissioner Murodih, as reported by Antara on Thursday (19 February 2026).

**Rp 25 Million in Compensation**

During the mediation, it was decided that the driver would pay approximately Rp 25 million to cover the cost of repairing the damaged fence. The driver agreed to bear the repair costs.

"The interim amount for repairs is approximately Rp 25 million," Murodih said.

JK's residence, which was struck, is located on Jalan Brawijaya IV, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The mediation between the driver's party and the property owner's representatives was held on Wednesday (18 February).

The Hyundai Santa Fe crashed into the residential fence in the early hours of Wednesday (18 February) at 03.30 Western Indonesian Time. The driver HP had been travelling from the direction of Kemang and was heading home to Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

Police confirmed there were no injuries or fatalities as a result of the accident.

**Driver Suspected of Falling Asleep**

HP had requested that the collision incident be resolved through mediation. Police stated that HP was suspected of having fallen asleep at the wheel, causing her vehicle to crash into JK's fence.

"The driver was probably drowsy, so she lost control," said Senior Commissioner Murodih.
