CapCut, an integrated video editing solution, officially held the peak event of the AI Content Fest 2026 on Friday (11/9). This national-scale short film festival serves as a platform for Indonesian creative talents to showcase works that blend local narratives with the sophistication of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

Carrying the theme “Small Stories. Big Screen. One Nation”, the festival featured 10 selected works from creators across various regions on the big screen at CGV Grand Indonesia (ScreenX), Jakarta.

This initiative is also part of the celebration for Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day, as creators are invited to share stories regarding identity, culture, and hopes for the nation through CapCut’s AI-based editing features.

“Indonesia possesses so many stories and creative talents that deserve a larger stage. Through AI Content Fest 2026, we want to help creators bring their perspectives to the big screen and open more opportunities so that local works can be widely recognised,” said Jessica Wowor, Head of Content Operations at CapCut Indonesia.

CapCut’s move aligns with the vision of the Ministry of Creative Economy to strengthen the national creative industry through technology. Notably, in 2024, the creative economy sector contributed more than Rp1,500 trillion to the national GDP. The presence of AI is expected to act as a catalyst to accelerate innovation across various creative sub-sectors.

In a panel discussion session, several industry figures, including Lukman Sardi, Mouments Surya, and Gustav Anandhita, agreed that AI is an efficient supporting tool, though creative control remains in human hands.

Lukman Sardi highlighted the role of technology in enriching character exploration for actors, while Moulys Surya emphasised AI’s efficiency in the idea development stage and concept visualisation for directors.

The festival’s peak was also enlivened by the launch of an AI-based music video for Raim Laode’s latest single, titled “Dunia Yang Nanti.” This collaboration demonstrates how CapCut features, ranging from auto-captions to audio enhancement, can be applied in professional works.

Beyond the finalists, visitors at CGV Grand Indonesia could directly experience the creative process through the CapCut Poster Lab. Here, visitors could create cinematic-style film posters across various genres, such as horror, romance, and sci-fi, using the creative features within the CapCut application.

As a form of commitment to digital security, CapCut also implements transparency measures such as invisible watermarks and C2PA Content Credentials. This aims to ensure that creators can continue to innovate responsibly in an increasingly evolving digital era.
