Since its launch in 2020, CapCut has grown into an integrated editing platform that has given birth to a wide range of creative ideas, from creators who spark trends and inspire millions of others, to filmmakers who craft original works from scratch.

CapCut now reaches more than 660 million users in over 170 markets and is available in 30 languages, spanning Southeast Asia, North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and various other regions. To mark this milestone, CapCut introduced CapCut World, its first community event series in Southeast Asia, the United States and Europe, aimed at celebrating and empowering creators.

At the first CapCut World event for Southeast Asia, held in Singapore last weekend, CapCut brought together more than 300 creators, industry leaders and CapCut team members to share inspiring creator stories, exchange tips on the creative process, and explore the popular features that have shaped CapCut today.

To support creators at every stage of the creative process, CapCut offers more than 85 AI features within the app, helping its community produce more than six billion original creations, ranging from images and video clips to effects, throughout 2026. These features are designed to be easy to use and suited to the needs of diverse creators, allowing the entire creative process from start to finish to be carried out more practically and efficiently within a single application.

For example, through AI Lab, creators can develop initial ideas by describing their vision directly within the CapCut app. These ideas can then be developed further using Infinite Canvas to build stories, develop characters and experiment with different shots and scenes.

Once all elements are ready to be assembled, the story along with its assets and creative context can be passed directly to CapCut’s multitrack editor. There, the AI-based editing feature, Edit Pilot, will accompany creators in realising their vision by applying the right tools at each stage of the creative process.

CapCut has also implemented various transparency measures, such as invisible watermarks and Content Credentials from C2PA, so that creators can produce content more responsibly.

At the cutting edge of creative technology, more than seven million creators use CapCut’s AI features every day, including professional filmmakers focused on producing works with AI. CapCut continues to prioritise the integration of advanced AI models into the app, such as Dreamina Seedance for video, Dola Seedream for images and Seed Audio for audio, enabling creators to use the latest generative technology directly within CapCut.

These models underpin more sophisticated creative features, such as Video Studio, Seedance’s interactive editing feature that allows creators to specify particular parts they wish to adjust, whether by timestamp, character or visual element, without having to recreate an entire scene.

Similar convenience is available for images through Design Studio. Using Seedream’s interactive editing feature, creators simply provide visual directions, such as drawing arrows or circling particular areas, to refine the final result. Each element can also be separated into multiple layers that can be shifted and resized.

All of these capabilities unite the process of video, image and design creation, and the use of AI, in a single platform available on mobile, desktop, web and tablet.

The Singapore event opened a global series of celebrations for creators. “After Singapore, CapCut World will also visit Los Angeles and London later this year. As CapCut continues to expand its scope from video and images to design and other AI-assisted creations, the main focus remains the same. From the beginning, CapCut has sought to simplify the video-making process so that it is accessible to more people,” said Xiaoqi Fu, Global Head of CapCut, in a statement on Tuesday (8/9).

Building on that foundation, Xiaoqi said CapCut continues to unite more stages of the creative process, from editing and design to new features, while ensuring that control over every creative decision remains in the hands of the user.
