Canva Claims to Be the World's Third Largest AI Service, Users Reach 265 Million
KOMPAS.com - The graphic design platform Canva is now used by more than 265 million users per month. The Australia-based company shared this information at its annual Canva Create 2026 event held on Thursday (16/4/2026).
That figure represents an increase from 260 million monthly users in December 2025.
In addition to the number of monthly users, Canva’s number of paying subscribers has also risen to 31 million, compared to 24 million at Canva Create 2025.
Canva also announced its annual revenue at the end of 2025, exceeding $4 billion (approximately Rp68 trillion).
Its B2B business is also claimed to have grown positively, generating revenue of more than $500 million (approximately Rp…). The enterprise business has likewise grown by more than 100 percent year-on-year (YoY).
Obrecht also boasted that Canva is the third largest AI-powered service in the world based on user volume, according to a report from venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (A16Z).
It trails ChatGPT in first place and Gemini in second place.
“In terms of how many customers are using AI tools, Canva is experiencing the fastest growth compared to other major software companies. Our AI products have been used more than 27 billion times,” Obrecht stated.
In general, AI technology is still not widely adopted. An illustration shared by Cliff shows that only about one-third of people worldwide use artificial intelligence. However, that illustration was not accompanied by other detailed data such as usage percentages.
The majority of users still use free AI. Only a small portion of users are willing to pay for AI services or use AI for coding.
This array of features also marks the transition era for Canva, from being an AI-powered design platform to the reverse.
“We are very excited to showcase the next era of Canva as we evolve from a design platform with AI tools to an AI platform with design tools,” said Cliff.
At the Canva Create 2026 event, Canva also announced its latest series of AI features, “Canva AI 2.0”.
