Guangzhou (ANTARA) - The China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, edition 139, was officially opened on 15 April in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, with a record number of participants exceeding 32,000 companies.

For the first time, the fair introduces two special zones for consumer drones and agricultural drones, featuring more than 20 drone companies. The pavilions are crowded with buyers from within and outside China, with dynamic negotiations and strong trade momentum.

The new drone zones showcase the latest achievements in unmanned systems and the low-altitude economy, covering consumer, industrial, agricultural, and heavy-lift drones, as well as flight control systems, mapping equipment, and integrated solutions.

Guangdong Yesheen Aviation Technology Co., Ltd., a high-tech company focused on manned electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft technology, exhibited an ultra-light manned eVTOL aircraft at the event, depicting the future of urban air mobility.

“Our manned eVTOL aircraft has an endurance of 25 minutes and a cruising speed of 60 km/h,” said Ye Sheng, the company’s director.

Priced at 400,000 yuan (1 yuan = Rp2,514), this model offers cost efficiency compared to similar international products. With a maximum payload capacity of 100 kg and fully electric power, the aircraft can be used for emergency rescue, water sports, and tourism.

Established only last year, Yesheen Aviation made its debut at the Canton Fair. Ye attributed the company’s rapid growth to the country’s strong supply chain.

“This aircraft is entirely original, with more than 90 percent of materials made in China. Most components come from the Pearl River Delta, just an hour’s drive away, supporting high-quality products at affordable prices,” Ye said.

The company’s booth was crowded with international buyers on the opening day. According to Ye, clients mainly come from Russia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. In the first three hours since opening, the company recorded 50 to 60 initial orders.

Eyal Yalik Nahum, a buyer from the Middle East, expressed being impressed after trying the eVTOL.

“Everything here is amazing. This fair is worth visiting every year to see the latest innovations. This is truly cutting-edge technology that reflects clear global trends,” he said.

Khalid Elmanufi from Sudan described the equipment as innovative and superior.

“It is ideal for explorers and miners in remote areas without road access. The tool can transport personnel, conduct surveys, and collect samples efficiently,” he said, adding that he plans to purchase and promote the vehicle in Africa’s mining industry.

Haichuang Zhikong (Shandong) Information Technology Co., Ltd.’s electric unmanned helicopter H15 became one of the stars of the exhibition. Weighing 15 kg, this helicopter can carry up to 6 kg payload, fly for 60 minutes, withstand Level 6 winds, and reach an altitude of 4,000 metres. The vehicle supports logistics, rescue, and mapping needs.

“We excel in providing customised solutions for various markets and industries, meeting global demand for durable and heavy-payload drones,” said the company representative.

On the opening day, the company received visits from buyers in more than 30 countries and regions, obtained over 50 potential clients, and exceeded order expectations.

Many international buyers stated that Chinese drone manufacturers have solid technology, reliable quality, strong innovation, and cost advantages, making them trusted partners in the global low-altitude economy.

First held in 1957, the Canton Fair takes place twice a year in Guangzhou. The fair is China’s oldest comprehensive international trade event and has long been regarded as a barometer of the country’s foreign trade.
