REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIMAHI – The Cimahi Police Department has foiled the distribution of 101.4 kilograms, or 1 quintal, of cannabis, worth IDR 600 million. The illicit goods were intended for distribution in the Greater Bandung area, which includes Cimahi City, West Bandung Regency, Bandung City, and Bandung Regency.

Police have also apprehended three suspects who were involved in transporting and distributing the 1 quintal of cannabis. They are KRA (34 years old), DEB (34), and RAA (25), who were arrested by the Cimahi Police Department’s Narcotics Unit in the Tangerang area, Banten.

“We need to inform you that these three suspects are involved in the distribution of cannabis, with evidence worth approximately IDR 600 million. This includes 100 kilograms, or 1 quintal, of cannabis,” said Cimahi Police Chief, AKBP Niko Nurallah Adi Putra, at the Cimahi Police Headquarters on Tuesday (24/2/2026).

The inter-provincial cannabis distribution was uncovered as a result of the Cimahi Police Department’s Narcotics Unit developing information after initially arresting suspects KRA and DEB. They had received a shipment of cannabis through a “drop-off” system from an Instagram account named @WithyouBogor17, which is currently under investigation.

The illicit goods were packed in two large suitcases, with each package weighing between 1 kilogram and 3.125 grams, for a total of approximately 100 kilograms.

According to Niko, the cannabis was intended to be delivered to a buyer with the initials RAA through a direct meeting or cash-on-delivery (COD) system. However, before the transaction could take place, RAA was apprehended by officers from the Cimahi Police Department’s Narcotics Unit.

“RAA was apprehended first. From there, officers used a controlled delivery technique and waited for KRA and DEB to arrive at the agreed-upon location,” said Niko.

During the delivery process, KRA and DEB were found to have collected the cannabis from the Jamin Ginting area in Medan, North Sumatra, using a plane. Subsequently, DEB loaded the two suitcases containing the cannabis onto an intercity bus heading to Tangerang, and then returned by plane.

Meanwhile, KRA escorted the suitcases during the overland journey. To deceive authorities, the cannabis inside the suitcases was sprinkled with mothballs to mask the pungent odour of the drug.
