Candies instead of change
Candies instead of change
From Neraca
I am a regular customer of a supermarket and I am concerned
about their payment system. Under their system, consumers lose
much more, while the supermarket adds more to their profits.
For example, when shopping at a supermarket in Kebon Jeruk I
usually pay a larger sum for the items I buy, expecting the right
amount in change. But what often happens is that I do not get the
right amount in return. Instead of returning my change, the
cashier gives me candies which she keeps in her drawer.
Through this letter I would like to appeal to the authorities
for speedy customer protection. Consumers should not be looked
upon as milch cows by supermarket management.
It is only fair that business people make a reasonable profit.
But it should not hurt consumers because would that not be called
deceit?
