Candidates for Golkar West Java Chairman Narrow Down
The Golkar West Java Provincial Congress contestation is beginning to narrow with the emergence of a candidate backed by the majority. As many as 22 district and city DPDs have declared their support for Daniel Muttaqin. Daniel officially registered as a candidate for Chairman of the Golkar Party’s West Java DPD at the Golkar West Java office in Bandung on Wednesday (1/4/2026), submitting his documents to the committee. He arrived accompanied by his wife, 19 Chairmen of DPD II Golkar from districts and cities, as well as six founding, founded, and Golkar wing organisations. The entourage was received by Yomanius Untung, Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Golkar West Java Congress. Daniel stated that his decision to run was based on strong support from the DPD level II and his experience over one period in the Golkar West Java management. “First, the push is because I have indeed been involved in the DPD Golkar West Java Provincial management for one period,” said Daniel. He assessed that this support serves as capital for participating in the contestation while also driving party consolidation to face upcoming political agendas. “So there’s nothing difficult, nothing hard when I am here now, receiving 22 supports,” said Daniel. Edwin Senjaya, representative of DPD II, stated that support for Daniel comes from 22 district and city DPDs as well as six party founding and wing organisations. “All documents and required files have been well received by the committee; next, verification will be carried out together with the team from the DPP,” said Edwin. The committee will subsequently conduct the verification process before determining the candidates in the Golkar West Java Congress.
