Cancer hospital donors awarded

JAKARTA (JP): President Soeharto awarded yesterday 10
businessmen who donated money towards the construction of the
first cancer hospital in Indonesia.

The people were also officiated as members of the Donor
Council of the Dharmais Foundation chaired by President Soeharto.

The cancer hospital, located on Jl. S. Parman, West Jakarta,
is managed by Dharmais Foundation. The hospital was officially
opened on May 30 of last year.

President Soeharto said yesterday that the foundation had
spent Rp 107.8 billion (US$47.5 million) on the construction of
the hospital.

"The construction has not been completed yet, however. It is
designed to have a total of 300 rooms for patients, while only
100 have been built so far," Soeharto said.

The President said that there are now 31 people listed as
members of the donor council.

The 10 businessmen to receive the awards yesterday were Robby
Sumampow, Budiman L, Kurnia Wijaya, Toni Hardianto, Benny Tatimu,
Sukanto Tanoto, P.O. Suwandi, Sanivasan, Mike Lee and Rachman
