Canada warns of new RI attacks
INDONESIA: Canada said on Friday there could be further attacks
in Indonesia following last weekend's suicide blasts in Bali and
warned its nationals against nonessential travel to the country.
"The possibility of further attacks puts Canadians at risk,"
an advisory said.
"Canadians should exercise caution and maintain a high level
of personal security awareness at all times and in all places. As
these explosions demonstrate, the security situation can
deteriorate rapidly without notice."
Australia also warned on Tuesday of possible new attacks.
"Media have reported further general and specific bomb and
terrorist threats and anonymous tip-offs in the wake of the
October 1 bombings," Australia's foreign affairs department
advisory said.
"Canadians are reminded that there is an ongoing terrorist
threat to Westerners and Western interests in Indonesia,"
Friday's advisory said. -- AFP
