JAKARTA (JP): The Canadian Embassy in cooperation with the
Indonesia-Canada Chamber of Commerce will host a Canada-Sumatra
Business Marketplace on April 3 in the North Sumatra capital of
Medan.

The Canadian embassy announced yesterday that the Canada-
Sumatra Business Marketplace will bring together Canadian private
sector representatives and Sumatran counterparts for an
examination of business opportunities in the island.

The marketplace will include presentations by the
participating Canadian firms and their possible contributions to
local development projects.

"Canadian firms have worked extensively in infrastructure
projects in Sumatra. It is my hope that these linkages can be
expanded further through the creation of new partnerships," said
Canadian Ambassador in Jakarta, Lawrence T. Dickenson. (13)
