Canada business awards
JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian-Canada Chamber of Commerce will award several Indonesian companies for their great contribution to improving bilateral economic relations at a gala dinner at the Regent Hotel on July 1.
The chamber said yesterday the awards would be given to companies engaged in trade and manufacturing, investment and service sectors.
Another award would be given to a small and medium-sized enterprise which had contributed significantly to bilateral economic ties.
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, Indonesia- Canada trade dropped by 10 percent to US$1.05 billion last year from $1.17 billion in 1995. Trade was in Canada's favor totaling $417.53 million last year, down from $451.66 million in 1995. (rid)
