Cambodia’s main export products to ASEAN include garments, footwear, travel goods, bags, solar panels, car tyres, electronics, and agricultural products, among others such as rice, cashew nuts, rubber latex, cassava, durian, and bananas.
Thong Mengdavid, Deputy Director at the China-ASEAN Studies Centre at the Cambodian University of Technology and Science, stated that the growth in Cambodia’s trade in the ASEAN region reflects regional resilience and geographical advantages.
He told Xinhua that Cambodia can leverage ASEAN as a buffer against external shocks, given the kingdom’s good connectivity with the region via land, air, and waterways.
