Cambodian and Thai Foreign Ministers Discuss Border Issues in Brunei
Phnom Penh (ANTARA) - Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn discussed border issues with his Thai counterpart, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, on the sidelines of the 25th ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting in Brunei Darussalam, according to a statement from the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday. On Monday (27/4), both parties held an open discussion regarding the border situation, including measures to enhance trust and broader aspects of diplomatic relations between the two countries. “Achieving lasting peace between our two countries, which also contributes to peace, stability, and unity within the ASEAN framework, requires sincere commitment and full respect for international law, the ASEAN Charter, as well as all existing and binding agreements and understandings,” Sokhonn stated. Cambodia and Thailand agreed to implement an immediate ceasefire on 27 December 2025, following a three-week armed conflict that caused casualties on both sides.
