Cambodia may be admitted to ASEAN

MANILA (AFP): War-torn Cambodia may be formally admitted as
ASEAN's 10th member during formal ceremonies toward the end of
April, Philippine Foreign Secretary Domingo Siazon said on
Monday.

Siazon, a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations
(ASEAN) "troika" on Cambodia, said Vietnam was arranging for a
date when all ASEAN foreign ministers can attend the special
admission ceremony in Hanoi.

Asked if there was a consensus among ASEAN on Cambodia's entry
to the organization, he said: "Yes, it's just the date."
