Caltex finds oil wells

JAKARTA (JP): PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia, a production
sharing contractor of Pertamina and an affiliate of the Chevron
Corporation and Texaco Inc., has made two new oil discoveries in
its Rokan Block in Riau with initial productions of 1,198 barrel
oil per day.

The company said yesterday that the first exploratory well,
Ami No.1, is located about 35 kilometers northwest of Minas Field
and five kilometers north of Asia Field with total depth of 6,010
feet. The second well, Jambon South East Strat No.1, is located
about 2.2 kilometers west of Duri Field with total depth of 5,159
feet.

Caltex Pacific Indonesia currently operates in four contract
areas in Riau -- Rokan, Siak, CPP and MFK Blocks as well as one
contract in the offshore area of West Java, Nias Block, which is
still in the exploration process. (kod)
