Cakung-Cilincing Road Congested This Afternoon Due to Container Truck Queue
Traffic on Jalan Cakung-Cilincing, North Jakarta, was congested again today. The density was caused by container trucks queuing at length in the left lane of the road.
“There is a queue of container trucks in the left lane of Jalan Cacing Raya heading towards the BSA Logistik depot,” the Traffic Management Center (TMC) of Polda Metro Jaya said via its X account @TMCPoldaMetro on Wednesday (22/7/2026).
In an uploaded video, officers found the truck queue stretching far along the northern section of Jalan Cakung-Cilincing. Traffic on the road, commonly known as Jalan Cacing, was quite heavy.
The container trucks were lined up in the left lane of Jalan Cakung-Cilincing, leaving only the two right-hand lanes for other vehicles. Monitored from the traffic light, officers reported that traffic conditions at the Kolong Cacing junction were also quite busy.
“The morning traffic flow around the Kolong Cacing traffic light on Jalan Bekasi Raya, heading towards Pulogadung, Cilincing, Kranji/Bekasi and Cakung, is observed to be busy,” it said.
As monitored through map and traffic flow applications, at 12.14 WIB, traffic at the Kolong Jalan Cacing four-way junction remained dense. Vehicle volume in front of Cakung Police Station also appeared still heavy.
Traffic engineering at the Cakung junction
Traffic engineering has been implemented in the Kolong Cakung junction area to prevent severe congestion from recurring. Large vehicles may only make U-turns in front of Cakung Police Station.
“For those heading to Jalan Cacing (Cakung-Cilincing), they are currently directed to continue straight and turn at the U-turn in front of Cakung Police Station to avoid gridlock at the junction,” said Harlem Simanjuntak, Head of the East Jakarta Transport Sub-department, as quoted by Antara on Wednesday (22/7).
“Only large vehicles are directed to turn in front of Cakung Police Station,” he said.
He explained that since 07.00 WIB, general traffic conditions on Jalan Raya Bekasi, particularly at the Kolong Cakung junction, had been busy but flowing. Meanwhile, the volume of vehicles heading towards Jalan Raya Cakung-Cilincing had begun to increase.
“For this morning’s traffic situation on Jalan Raya Bekasi, both towards Pulogadung and Bekasi, it is busy but flowing. On Jalan Cakung-Cilincing there is a slowdown, but other traffic is moving because there is still a queue entering the depot,” Harlem explained.
