Cakung-Cilincing Road Congested This Afternoon Due to Container Truck Queue

Traffic on Jalan Cakung-Cilincing in North Jakarta was heavily congested again today. The traffic jam was caused by a long queue of container trucks in the left lane of the road. “There is a queue of container trucks in the left lane of Jalan Cacing Raya heading towards the BSA Logistik Depot,” stated the Traffic Management Centre (TMC) of Polda Metro Jaya via its X account @TMCPoldaMetro on Wednesday (22/7/2026). In the uploaded video, officers observed the truck queue snaking along the northbound section of Jalan Cakung-Cilincing. Traffic on the road, commonly known as Jalan Cacing, was consequently very dense. The container trucks were lined up in the left lane of Jalan Cakung-Cilincing, leaving only the two right lanes for other vehicles to pass. Monitoring from the traffic light, officers reported that the traffic situation at the Kolong Cacing intersection was also quite busy. “The morning traffic flow situation around the Kolong Cacing traffic light on Jalan Bekasi Raya heading towards Pulogadung, Cilincing, Kranji/Bekasi, and Cakung was observed to be busy,” they said. According to monitoring from map and traffic flow applications at 12.14 WIB, the traffic flow at the Kolong Jalan Cacing intersection was still congested. The volume of vehicles in front of the Cakung Police Station also remained heavy. Traffic engineering was implemented in the Cakung intersection area to prevent severe gridlock. Large vehicles are only permitted to make a U-turn in front of the Cakung Police Station. “Those heading to Jalan Cacing (Cakung-Cilincing) are temporarily directed to go straight and make a U-turn in front of the Cakung Police Station to avoid bottlenecks at the intersection,” said Head of the East Jakarta Transportation Agency, Harlem Simanjuntak. “Only large vehicles are directed to make a U-turn in front of the Cakung Police Station,” he added. He explained that since 07.00 WIB, the general traffic conditions on Jalan Raya Bekasi, precisely at the Cakung intersection, were observed to be busy but flowing smoothly. Meanwhile, the flow of vehicles heading towards Jalan Raya Cakung-Cilincing began to experience an increase in volume. “For the morning traffic situation on Jalan Raya Bekasi, both towards Pulogadung and Bekasi, it was busy but smooth. For Jalan Cakung-Cilincing, there was a slowdown but other flows were moving because there was still a queue entering the depot,” explained Harlem.
