Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar, or Cak Imin, responded to PKB’s target of nominating him as president or vice president in the upcoming 2029 General Election. Cak Imin stated that President Prabowo Subianto remains the strongest candidate for President (Capres). “In 2029, Pak Prabowo will still run and remain very strong,” said Cak Imin at the PKB central board office in Central Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026). Cak Imin said Prabowo would certainly win if he runs again for President. He stated that PKB would support the figure with the potential to win. “If Pak Prabowo runs, he will definitely win, and we support the winner,” he said. Cak Imin admitted he has not yet thought about the 2029 Election. Cak Imin said he is currently focusing on his party’s internal affairs. “We haven’t thought about 2029 regarding myself personally; the party comes first,” he said. Previously, Deputy Chairman of the PKB Central Board Hanif Dhakiri revealed PKB’s target for the 2029 Election. One of PKB’s targets is to nominate PKB Central Board Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) as President or Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. “Only in that way can we as a party not only survive but also grow larger in the future, continue to achieve our major goals, including making Gus Muhaimin President or Vice President in 2029,” said Hanif Dhakiri in his speech at the PKB Cadre Appreciation and Halalbihalal Event at the PKB central board office in Central Jakarta on Friday (10/4). Hanif said the current and future political situation will be competitive. That target can be achieved through mutual cooperation from the cadres. “In the midst of a political situation that is becoming increasingly competitive and likely more pragmatic, one of the most reliable strengths for PKB is the superiority of its cadres,” he said.
