Cak Imin Urges Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims to Pray for Prabowo
Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar has called on all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to pray for President Prabowo Subianto and other national leaders. He made the statement during a visit to a pilgrim tent in Mecca on 26 May.
“I ask all pilgrims in Arafah to pray for our president and leaders, that they remain healthy, successful, and lead Indonesia to become a just, prosperous, and thriving nation,” he said in a written statement, cited on Thursday, 28 May 2026.
Known as Cak Imin, he noted that this year’s Indonesian Hajj contingent numbers 202,000. He stressed that the collective prayers of Indonesian pilgrims for the nation’s leader are vital for the country.
Moreover, he highlighted that the Arafah moment holds special significance for Muslims to offer prayers. “At this very moment, they are experiencing the best of Arafah. The gates of prayer are wide open for their supplications to be answered,” Cak Imin said.
He also expressed optimism that the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage would proceed smoothly and with quality until its conclusion. Cak Imin reported receiving testimonials from Indonesian pilgrims about this year’s services, including from the Ngawi contingent.
“They shared how moved they were as all processes ran smoothly—flights, transportation, meals, and the transition to Arafah were safe and orderly,” he added.
According to Cak Imin, this success is attributable to the establishment of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah by Prabowo’s government. As the Chairman of the National Awakening Party, he views the new ministry as evidence of Prabowo’s commitment to improving Hajj management with greater focus, professionalism, and maximisation.
