Cak Imin Urges Gus Kikin to Learn from Experience after PBNU Dynamics

General Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar has congratulated Abdul Hakim Mahfudz, known as Gus Kikin, on his election as General Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) for the 2026-2031 period.

“Congratulations on your struggle, Gus Kikin. May you succeed with the blessing and help of Allah SWT,” said Cak Imin, as Muhaimin is affectionately known, in Jakarta on Monday (31/8).

Cak Imin expressed hope that Gus Kikin would lead PBNU in accordance with the NU Basic Principles (Qanun Asasi NU). He also prayed that Gus Kikin would remain steadfast in carrying out the organisation’s mandate.

“Congratulations on your struggle to implement the Qanun Asasi,” he said.

Following the recent dynamics within PBNU, Cak Imin also advised Gus Kikin to draw wisdom and lessons from the experience.

“Let us learn from the experience of the past five years. God willing, goodness will erase wrongdoing,” he said.

Gus Kikin was confirmed as General Chairman of PBNU after nine members of the Ahlul Halli Wal Aqdi (AHWA) deliberated and reached a consensus decision during the 35th NU Congress in Jombang, East Java, on Monday (31/8).

In addition to Gus Kikin, other candidates included Zulfa Mustofa, Abdussalam Shohib, Yahya Cholil Staquf, and Abdul Ghaffar Rozin.
