Cak Imin: Social Aid Recipients Caught Playing Online Gambling Will Be Immediately Removed!

Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating online gambling. Cak Imin stated that social aid recipients proven to be playing online gambling will be immediately removed from the recipient list. He made this statement after meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, 12 May 2026. “Up to today, we continue to address it. Those using social aid for online gambling will be automatically removed from the recipients,” Cak Imin told reporters. He explained that the government already possesses data on social aid recipients who play online gambling. Cak Imin said that this data is held by the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos). “It’s already there, but it’s complete at Kemensos,” he added. Besides online gambling, Cak Imin highlighted that the government is also focusing on the middle class, which is now considered increasingly vulnerable. He stated that the government has prepared various schemes to support the middle-class population. “Yes, we have the 10 million working and 10 million rising class programme. One of them is to ensure our UMKM grow and produce a strong, growing middle class,” Cak Imin concluded.
