Cak Imin reaffirms commitment to championing Aceh's interests at the centre

Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for People’s Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, has reaffirmed his commitment to championing Aceh’s interests in the central government, especially in the process of rehabilitation and reconstruction following the flood and landslide disaster.

“I will continue to strive in the central government to realise this through government decisions that prioritise the needs of the people of Aceh, particularly post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction,” said Cak Imin in Banda Aceh on Tuesday evening.

The statement was made by Cak Imin to the media after inaugurating the management of the Aceh Chapter of the National Awakening Party (PKB) for the 2026-2031 period in Banda Aceh.

In addition to disasters, Cak Imin said he would also champion other aspirations of the Aceh people, such as implementing the points in the peace agreement or the Helsinki MoU.

He explained that with the spirit of transformation chosen by President Prabowo’s administration in efforts to explore potentials such as strengthening independently owned resources.

“Not dependent on anyone, but dependent on ourselves. Therefore, it is time for Aceh to rise with the wealth it possesses,” he said.

He reiterated that as General Chairman of PKB and Coordinating Minister for People’s Empowerment, he is ready to assist Aceh to the maximum extent possible. Therefore, it is hoped that all parties will not go astray in implementing national development.

On the other hand, to the PKB cadres in Aceh who have been entrusted by the people of Aceh, they are urged to truly carry out that mandate and prove the benefits that can be directly felt by the people of Aceh.

“Insya Allah, I am confident and optimistic that PKB under the leadership of H Ruslan M Daud will realise a just, prosperous, and welfare-oriented Aceh,” Cak Imin concluded.
