Cak Imin on PKB Cadre Cilacap Regent Arrested by KPK: Did Not Expect This

Jakarta — PKB party chairman Muhaimin Iskandar expressed concern over the sting operation (OTT) conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) targeting Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman, a PKB cadre.

Muhaimin stated that his party respects the legal process underway.

“Yes, we are concerned and did not expect this. Of course we respect the legal process,” Muhaimin said following a free mudik (homecoming) farewell event at PKB’s central office in Jakarta on Sunday (15 March 2026).

“What is important is that all PKB regents must never fall into matters that are dangerous and lead to corruption,” he added.

Beyond the regent, the KPK also designated Cilacap’s Regional Secretary (Sekda) Sadmoko Danardono as a suspect in this case. Both were caught in the sting operation on Friday (13 March 2026).

“The KPK subsequently escalated this case to the investigation stage and designated two suspects: AUL as Cilacap Regent for the 2025-2030 term and SAD as Cilacap Regency’s Regional Secretary,” said KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu at a press conference at KPK’s Red-White Building on Saturday.
