Cak Imin Launches Sigap Bangsa Disaster Response Organisation
Muhaimin Iskandar, also known as Cak Imin, officially launched a new disaster management organisation, Sinergi Aksi Peduli Bangsa (Sigap Bangsa), at the National Disaster Management Agency’s Education and Training Centre in Bogor Regency, West Java, on Saturday. “There is a new organisation called Sigap Bangsa. This organisation was formed to anticipate and become an effective body in disaster management,” Cak Imin stated. He added that the establishment of Sigap Bangsa represents a new step for PKB in strengthening community involvement in the field of disaster response. “We hope that more people will get involved in disaster management. I am confident that the methods, techniques, and strategies for disaster management in Indonesia will continue to advance,” he said. “PKB will continue to engage the community to become resilient citizens with the skills and strength to face disasters.” Marwan Dasopang, Chairman of PKB’s Disaster Management Division, noted that the formation of Sigap Bangsa signifies the broadening of PKB’s contribution to society. “Currently, PKB is not only appearing as a political party but is also present to handle social and community issues. The launch of Sigap Bangsa also serves as a gift for PKB’s 28th anniversary,” Marwan said. Sigap Bangsa has reportedly already trained 250 disaster response volunteers. The programme will be further expanded through similar training in various regions to strengthen a network of disaster volunteers ready to be deployed when needed. The peak celebration of PKB’s 28th anniversary is scheduled to be held in Jakarta on 23 July 2026. PKB has also invited President Prabowo Subianto to attend and deliver a speech at the event.
