Cak Imin: Indonesia's Rp3,000 Trillion Budget Politics Must Deliver Clear Results
Jakarta, VIVA – PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, popularly known as Cak Imin, has said that budget politics based on the state budget (APBN) must genuinely deliver direct benefits to the public.
He made the remarks at the peak event of PKB’s 28th anniversary celebrations at the Jakarta Convention Center, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 23 July 2026.
According to him, President Prabowo Subianto has begun to shift the direction of budget politics towards programmes that the public most needs.
“Today we have witnessed one of the most concrete examples: many bridges that are needed in the remotest corners of the country, but which have never been touched by our budget,” Cak Imin said.
“This year, God willing, 5,000 bridges will be built to provide a way out of the most concrete problems before our very eyes. That is an example of budget politics whose results people can genuinely enjoy directly,” he continued.
After the event, Cak Imin reiterated that the state budget must be used effectively and that its results must be directly felt by the public.
He also touched on the steadily rising value of the APBN. According to him, the increase in the budget must be accompanied by a clear policy direction so that it can transform the national economic condition.
“Budget politics must not go round in circles with Rp3,000 trillion and no clear results. A few years ago it was Rp1,500 trillion, then Rp1,800 trillion, Rp2,000 trillion, Rp2,500 trillion, and now Rp3,000 trillion. Our APBN must have budget politics with clear outcomes,” he asserted.
In this regard, Cak Imin said that PKB fully supports President Prabowo’s steps in formulating budget politics that are properly targeted.
