JAKARTA — Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar stated that the government continues monitoring potential economic impacts from the Iran-Middle East conflict on Indonesia, particularly during the Ramadan holiday season this year.

Muhaimin noted that to date, no conclusive evidence has emerged that the conflict is significantly affecting Indonesia’s domestic economy. “We continue to monitor; as of this moment, there is no conclusion. We hope the impact has not become apparent,” Muhaimin said after launching the Free Mudik (holiday travel) initiative of the National Awakening Party (PKB) at PKB headquarters in Central Jakarta on Sunday (15/3/2026).

“The latest cabinet meeting report showed that economic operations are still running normally, despite drastic fuel price fluctuations, but overall growth remains solid,” he added.

“We will observe consumer purchasing power during the Ramadan season and hope there is no significant impact,” Muhaimin stated.

He added that he and the PKB support the government’s adoption of various anticipatory measures to address potential impacts from the conflict. “The PKB and I support the government’s adoption of anticipatory steps,” said Cak Imin.
