Cak Imin Greets Gus Rozin: A Significant Moment Ahead of the Muktamar
JAKARTA — The Chairman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, known as Cak Imin, specifically greeted the Chairman of PWNU Central Java, Abdul Ghaffar Rozin, or Gus Rozin, during the National Meeting of Islamic Boarding Schools. The moment occurred while Cak Imin was delivering his remarks at the event, which was attended by various leaders of Islamic boarding schools.
“Kyai Ghaffar Rozin, Chairman of PWNU Central Java. Where was Gus Rozin just now? This is important ahead of the Muktamar,” said Cak Imin, met with laughter from the attendees on Monday night (18/05/2026).
Previously, the Chairman of PWNU Central Java, Abdul Ghaffar Rozin, stated that if the Muktamar is not held by August 2026, the PWNU, alongside the PCNU, will issue a motion of no confidence against the PBNU. This statement was made when visiting the PBNU office in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/04/2026).
Gus Rozin explained that the visit by regional PWNU chairmen to the PBNU office serves as a form of regional leadership consolidation in response to internal organisational dynamics. He expressed deep concern that, following a reconciliation agreement, there has been no significant progress in resolving the communication deadlock among the PBNU elite.
These aspirations were conveyed to the Rais Aam of PBNU, Miftachul Akhyar, via online connection, and received in person by the General Chairman of PBNum, Yahya Cholil Staquf, in his office. The forum assessed that delays in conducting the Muktamar could potentially disrupt organisational consolidation and hinder NU’s focus on its strategic roles at both the national and community levels.
According to Gus Rozin, there are three key points in the position statement presented by the Forum of PWNU Chairmen across Indonesia to the PBNU. Second, the PBNU is requested to remain consistent in following up on the decisions made during the Syuriyah and Tanfidziyah Daily Meeting on 18 March 2026. This includes the formation of committees for the Munas/Konbes and Muktamar, as well as accelerating the issuance and completion of decision letters (SK).
Third, the Steering Committee is requested to finalise the Muktamar participants—comprising PWNU, PCNU, and PCINU—at least one month prior to the event. This stance is supported by 23 PWNU Chairmen from various provinces, ranging from Aceh to Papua Pegunungan, signalling a strong demand from the regional structures for certainty regarding the organisation’s leadership direction.
