Cak Imin Backs Single-Door Natural Resource Exports via DSI: For the People's Interest

PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, known as Cak Imin, has said his party supports the single-channel export policy for Indonesia’s natural resources, believing the move is capable of upholding economic sovereignty.

“PKB supports single-channel exports of all natural resources, which we believe is one of the main ways to begin upholding economic sovereignty on this beloved archipelago,” Cak Imin said in his address at the Jakarta Convention Centre on Thursday (23 July 2026).

Cak Imin said the extraordinary wealth Indonesia possesses must be used for the people’s interest, adding that the nation’s natural riches must be managed wisely.

“We are witnessing the President earnestly beginning to safeguard this extraordinary natural wealth and using it as much as possible for the people’s interest,” he said.

He noted that President Prabowo Subianto’s policies are already visible, and urged all parties to see the task through to completion.

“We are fully convinced that the new orientation and direction of the economy, beginning with the rescue of our natural resources, is not mere rhetoric or a pipe dream. We have long yearned for this, and we can see that the President’s policies are now tangible before our eyes through various concrete efforts we have witnessed,” he added.

Earlier, President Prabowo Subianto announced that the single-channel export policy for a number of strategic commodities through Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) would take full effect on 1 September 2026. At present, Prabowo said, the single-channel export policy through DSI remains in a transitional phase.

“With single-channel natural resource exports, we are carrying out a transition phase, and we hope that full implementation will come on 1 September 2026,” Prabowo said during a plenary Cabinet session monitored online via the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Monday (20 July).
