Cak Imin: 108 Laws Must Be Revised to Achieve Economic Sovereignty

The National Awakening Party (PKB) has assessed that at least 108 laws need to be revised so that Indonesia’s economic sovereignty can be carried out optimally.

This was stated by PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, also known as Cak Imin, during the peak event of PKB’s 28th anniversary at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC), Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 23 July 2026.

“Mr President, PKB has recorded that there are at least 108 laws that we must improve so that our economic sovereignty can truly be implemented,” said Cak Imin.

He said regulatory reform is part of the shared commitment between PKB and President Prabowo Subianto. This is to ensure that Indonesia’s wealth can be utilised for the welfare of the people.

Cak Imin said he would continue to support the Prabowo administration in carrying out the new direction of national economic policy.

“It is this sincerity that brings us all today to one conclusion: this new economic direction must not stop. PKB will continue to stand with Mr Prabowo to make this new economic direction a success,” said Cak Imin.

According to him, one of the fundamental changes that needs to be made is shifting the paradigm of economic development.

He revealed that over the past 25 years or so, the government together with the legislature have produced various policies and regulations to achieve economic growth.

“However, we sometimes forget that economic growth is not always accompanied by equitable distribution and justice,” said Cak Imin.
