Cadas Pangeran Road in Sumedang Reopens After Landslide

Jalan Raya Cadas Pangeran in Sumedang Regency can now be traversed by vehicles after being completely cut off due to being buried under landslide material. The main access road connecting Bandung and Sumedang was opened on Thursday morning (9/4). “It can already be passed, at 05.00 WIB, by both four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles,” said Pranata, the Public Relations Officer of the West Java Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD Jabar), Hadi Rahmat, when confirmed. Currently, BPBD Jabar and BPBD Sumedang are continuing to monitor the area as a safety measure for drivers and residents against follow-up landslides. “We are still continuing the monitoring,” he said. Hadi also advised the public to avoid the Cadas Pangeran area, especially during heavy rain. “As long as there is still potential for rain. If it rains, do not pass through Cadas Pangeran for fear of a landslide occurring in Cadas Pangeran,” he said. Previously, a landslide disaster occurred in the Cadas Pangeran area, Sumedang Regency, on Wednesday afternoon (8/4). The landslide was triggered by high rainfall intensity in the area. Footage of the landslide moments was captured in an amateur video by residents passing by. Vehicle traffic, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled, was immediately diverted to the Cisumdawu Toll Road to address long congestion.
