Cabinet Session on Eid Readiness to Proceed This Afternoon, Says Cabinet Secretary Teddy

President Prabowo Subianto will lead a Cabinet session at the Presidential Palace, Central Jakarta, this afternoon. Before the session, Prabowo and members of the Red and White Cabinet will make zakat contributions through the National Zakat Agency.

“Yes, that’s correct. So today there will be a Cabinet session regarding Eid readiness at 4 p.m. Jakarta time. It will begin with an event for cabinet members to pay zakat funds to the National Zakat Agency at the State Palace, around 3 p.m. Jakarta time,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya told reporters on Friday (13 March 2026).

The specific directives from Prabowo in this cabinet session have not yet been disclosed. However, Indonesia’s economy continues to be affected by global geopolitical conditions. The escalating conflict in the Middle East has caused volatility in global oil prices.

This will impact Indonesia’s already-mounting energy subsidy burden. On the other hand, there remains potential for increased state revenue through windfall gains from rising export commodity prices.

Nevertheless, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia has stated that Indonesia’s fuel stocks remain in secure condition for the next 23 days. Bahlil noted that rising fuel prices will increase the subsidy burden.

The government is still calculating the exact amount of additional subsidies that will be determined, given the continued fluctuation in global oil prices.

“So far we have not calculated precisely the subsidy budget,” Bahlil said at the Presidential Palace yesterday.
