Cabinet Secretary Teddy Urges Public and Businesses to Join and Support Fuel-Saving Culture

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya has urged the public and businesses to participate in and support the government’s fuel-saving culture for petroleum products (BBM) amid the global crisis.

“The government invites all members of the public and the business world to continue participating in supporting these steps to transform the work culture,” said Teddy during a press conference in Seoul, South Korea, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube, Tuesday (31/3/2026).

He also urged all parties to remain calm and productive.

Teddy noted that various government policies on fuel saving, including work from home for civil servants, are dynamic in nature.

“Let us remain calm, let us remain productive, and what is conveyed here is dynamic in nature; if there are any changes, they will certainly be announced by the government promptly,” he explained.

The government has officially implemented a work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) every Friday.

“The implementation of WFH for ASN in central and regional agencies will be for one working day per week, namely every Friday,” said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto during a virtual press conference, Tuesday (31/3/2026).

Airlangga explained that Friday was chosen because the working activities on that day are not like those from Monday to Thursday.

“We chose Friday because it is indeed a half-day, meaning not as full as Monday to Thursday,” he stated.

Airlangga also emphasised that public services will continue to operate despite the WFH policy every Friday.

“Public services will continue to run, and productive activities including banking, capital markets, and others will continue. Those in the offices are permitted to arrange it using certain applications,” he said.
