JAKARTA - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the schedule for President Prabowo Subianto’s foreign official visits is typically planned a year in advance.

The scheduling involves adjusting the timing between two national leaders.

‘Schedule must be set a year in advance,’ Teddy said in a video posted on the @sekretariat.kabinet Instagram account on Monday evening (1 June 2026).

However, he noted that urgent visits may occur as required, given the dynamic global geopolitical situation.

The delegation size has been reduced by half from 120 to approximately 50-60 members.

Travel costs are covered by Prabowo’s personal funds if they exceed the budget.

Therefore, Teddy stated that Prabowo’s foreign visits are not for show.

‘It is a significant mistake to claim these visits are merely ceremonial. We must consider the achievements of the past 18 months,’ he stressed.

Teddy revealed that Indonesia has achieved numerous outcomes from Prabowo’s visits, which have strengthened relations between heads of state.

Through these relationships, Indonesia has officially joined BRICS—a group balancing the economic dominance of developed nations and amplifying the voice of the Global South.

Foreign visits have also enabled Indonesia to secure 0% trade tariffs from the European Union for certain commodities.

‘There are 25 countries involved (EU). This agreement was negotiated over a decade ago, but when was it finalised? Under President Prabowo’s administration, specifically in 2025,’ he explained.

Furthermore, Indonesia has secured total investments amounting to Rp 2.43 trillion over 18 months of official visits.
