Cabinet Secretary Teddy Says Prabowo's Sudden Visit to Senen: He Planned to Disguise Himself
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo Subianto’s visit on Thursday afternoon, 26 March 2026, to the densely populated settlement along the railway tracks in the Senen area, Central Jakarta, was a spontaneous one. Teddy, who accompanied Prabowo, said that the President suddenly wanted to greet and see the residents living along the railway tracks. The situation was spontaneous with minimal escort. “It was sudden and he planned to disguise himself, using an ordinary car and very few Presidential Security Forces,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya on Thursday, 26 March 2026. According to Teddy, the residents were initially surprised and very enthusiastic about President Prabowo’s arrival in the area. “Earlier, many residents were shocked and said this was the first time a President came to that area,” he said. During the visit, President Prabowo, according to Teddy, intended to build decent housing for residents living along the Senen railway tracks—a location only 3 kilometres from the government centre. Earlier, President Prabowo Subianto was seen visiting residents’ settlements along the railway tracks in the Senen area, Central Jakarta, on Thursday afternoon. The moment was uploaded by Prabowo on his Instagram account @prabowo. Prabowo, wearing a dark blue shirt and brown cap, entered narrow alleys along the tracks and greeted nearby residents. “This afternoon, I traversed the settlements along the railway tracks in the Senen area, Central Jakarta. Located about 3 km from the centre of Jakarta,” said Prabowo in an upload on Instagram @prabowo on Thursday night. Wawan, a clown busker living along the Senen tracks, admitted he could not hold back his emotions upon seeing the President’s arrival in his settlement area. “I’m touched, almost cried hearing it. This is the first time someone has come here, it feels joyful,” said Wawan, citing the State Secretariat website. Meanwhile, Cono, a scavenger who is also a resident of the area, admitted he had a direct conversation with President Prabowo. He remembered the moment as a spontaneous and unexpected event. “Yeah, shocked, ma’am, spontaneity, right,” Cono recounted.
