Cabinet Secretary Teddy Says Government Has Sent 253 Tonnes of Logistical Aid to NTT

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed that the government has sent a total of 253 tonnes of logistics aid to communities affected by the disaster in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as of the fifth day of the response.

Teddy said President Prabowo continues to instruct government officials to accelerate delivery and ensure aid is distributed promptly to those in need.

Teddy stated that five aircraft departed again from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base at 4 a.m. Western Indonesia Time. The five aircraft carried 65 tonnes of logistics to be distributed to disaster-affected areas in NTT.

“First, on the instruction of the President, today, the fifth day after the disaster, 19 August 2026, at 4 a.m., five aircraft departed again for NTT, carrying a total of 65 tonnes of logistics today. So, from 27 tonnes on the first day to the fifth day, 253 tonnes of logistics have been transported,” Teddy said.

Teddy said the government has prepared two main command posts to accelerate aid distribution, namely in Labuan Bajo and Maumere. From the Labuan Bajo post, aid is distributed to several areas, including Manggarai and Ngada. Meanwhile, aid from the Maumere post is channelled to Sikka, Ende, and Nagekeo.

The logistics sent consist of food, beverages, tents, health supplies, and various other necessities for affected residents. Logistics distribution is carried out via air, sea, and land routes. The air route is reinforced with helicopters, Cassa aircraft, and smaller aircraft.

For the sea route, three Indonesian Navy warships (KRI) are already in the affected area, while one hospital ship is nearly docked. “According to a report from the Minister of Public Works (Dody Hanggodo), all land routes have been passable since the second day,” Teddy said.

The government, Teddy said, continues to monitor disaster response so that aid can be received by affected communities as soon as possible.

“Thank you to all personnel on duty, to residents, to volunteers, to everyone who has helped with this disaster response so that logistics can be delivered as quickly as possible and their benefits felt as soon as possible by affected residents,” he said.
