Cabinet Secretary Teddy Reveals the Content of the Meeting Between Prabowo and MBZ: The UAE Wants to Increase Investment in Indonesia

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed the content of the bilateral meeting between the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, and the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ), at the Qasr Al Bahr Palace, Abu Dhabi, on Thursday (26/2/2026) local time.

Seskab Teddy stated that both agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and increase investment cooperation between the two countries.

“The meeting discussed cooperation to increase investment. Bilateral relations will be enhanced,” said Teddy, who also accompanied President Prabowo during the meeting.

“The UAE wants to increase its investment in Indonesia,” Teddy revealed.

According to him, this increased cooperation marks the bilateral relationship between the two countries, which has long been known to be close and mutually beneficial.

With this increased cooperation, Indonesia is also seen as a key strategic partner in Southeast Asia, especially in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and future economic development.

In addition, the Indonesian government is also opening up wider opportunities for collaboration for UAE investors in various national priority sectors.

The momentum of this meeting coincides with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the UAE, which falls in 2026.

The meeting also reaffirms the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and the UAE towards a more comprehensive and long-term strategic partnership.
