Cabinet Secretary Teddy Reveals Prabowo's Sudden Visit to Residents Along Railway Tracks in Senen
Jakarta - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed that President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to a residents’ settlement along the railway tracks in the Senen area, Jakarta, on Thursday (26/3/2026), was conducted on the spur of the moment.
According to Teddy, in the afternoon, Prabowo suddenly wanted to see the residents still living along the railway tracks in the Senen area.
“It was spontaneous, and he planned to go incognito, using an ordinary car with very few presidential security personnel,” said Teddy to reporters on Thursday (26/3/2026).
Teddy, who accompanied Prabowo on the blusukan, said that many residents were enthusiastic and surprised to see the Head of State at the edge of the tracks.
During the visit, according to him, the Head of State conveyed his desire to build decent housing for the local residents.
“The President wants to build proper houses for the residents still living along the railway tracks, 3 km from central Jakarta,” he stated.
It was previously reported that President Prabowo uploaded moments from his blusukan to the residents’ settlement along the tracks in the Senen area, Central Jakarta, that afternoon, via his Instagram account @prabowo.
During the blusukan, Prabowo wore a dark blue shirt and a brown cap.
“This afternoon, I traversed the settlement along the railway tracks in the Senen area, Central Jakarta. It is located about 3 km from Central Jakarta,” said Prabowo in his Instagram post @prabowo on Thursday evening.
Prabowo was also warmly welcomed by local residents who wanted to shake his hand and take photos with him.
In this moment, Prabowo listened to the aspirations of the residents who crowded around the Head of State.
Prabowo could be faintly heard asking if the residents wanted houses built for them.
“Yes, sir, yes, sir,” the residents shouted.
