Cabinet Secretary Teddy Reveals Prabowo Wanted to Disguise Himself During Visit to Senen Railway Tracks
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya recounted President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to the embankment of the railway tracks in Kramat, Pasar Senen, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 26 March 2026. According to Teddy, Prabowo initially wanted to disguise himself to observe the conditions of the residents still living along the railway edges.
Prabowo, Teddy said, suddenly wanted to see the conditions of the community in that area on Thursday evening. “Spontaneous, impromptu, and he planned to disguise himself,” Teddy stated in a written remark.
According to Teddy, the Gerindra Party Chairman deliberately used his private car, not the presidential vehicle, when visiting Senen. At that time, Prabowo was seen using a black Toyota Alphard with the licence plate B 2962 BRU.
Teddy explained that, in addition to using an ordinary car, Prabowo wore civilian clothes complete with a hat and sunglasses. The Presidential Security Force or Paspampres brought to the location was also much fewer than usual. “Using an ordinary car, wearing a hat, and very few Paspampres,” Teddy remarked.
The presidential media team also reported the visit through a press release. In that statement, residents along the tracks said they had heard news of an official’s visit before Prabowo arrived.
One of them was Wawan, a busker living in the area. Wawan admitted that he initially only heard news of an official coming to inspect the area.
However, he did not expect that the visitor was President Prabowo. Initially, Wawan said, he thought the official coming was Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo.
“There was initial coordination, they said the Governor was coming. But it turned out to be the President. I just watched, didn’t get a chance to approach. Who is the number one person in Indonesia, this is the first time he’s come here,” Wawan said, as reported by the presidential media team on Thursday.
During his visit, Prabowo promised to build decent homes for the residents along the Senen tracks. Prabowo expressed this commitment through a post on his Instagram account @prabowo. In the post, Prabowo shared a video of his impromptu visit to the area along the tracks in Kramat, Pasar Senen.
“Insyaallah, we will soon build decent housing for the community in that area quickly, and it has become my determination to provide decent housing for the Indonesian people,” said the former defence minister.
