Cabinet Secretary Teddy Responds to Saiful Mujani: I Haven't Seen What He Said - NTVNews.id

Ntvnews.id, Jakarta - The statement by Saiful Mujani, founder of Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC), calling for efforts to “topple” President Prabowo Subianto has attracted widespread attention. The call was made at a Halal Bihalal forum titled “Before Observers Are Disciplined” held in the Utan Kayu area, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

In his statement, Saiful assessed that Prabowo’s leadership does not demonstrate presidential conduct despite having been in office for more than a year. He also highlighted the government’s stance, which he views as closed to public criticism, as well as pressure on observers.

In response to the controversy, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya chose a brief reply. He admitted to not having followed Saiful Mujani’s statement directly.

Teddy added that the current government is focusing on larger and more strategic agendas. He stressed that the President’s attention is not diverted by the controversy.

“Especially the President, the President is handling big matters, focusing on more strategic things,” he said.

This statement also serves as the government’s response to the emerging criticisms, including assessments of the current government’s performance and direction.
