Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that Indonesia will not experience chaos or disorder. According to Teddy, the situation in the country remains under control.

Teddy asserted that the notion of Indonesia descending into chaos is incorrect. “Some time ago, there was an issue suggesting that Indonesia would soon face chaos; I apologise, but I must clarify: that is a misguided narrative,” Teddy said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday night, 10 April 2026.

Teddy is confident that Indonesia will not spiral into disarray. “There is no chaos. Everything is under control,” he stated.

He conveyed that national stability is evident amid a global situation fraught with pressures. This is even as conflicts in the Middle East have impacted rising fuel prices in various countries.

Teddy highlighted President Prabowo Subianto’s decision not to raise fuel prices, despite many countries facing increases due to disrupted supplies. “Amid global conflicts and the impact of the war in the Middle East, many countries have raised fuel prices and faced fuel shortages, but President Prabowo has decided not to increase subsidised fuel prices at all. That is a fact,” he said.

He urged the public not to be swayed by narratives claiming Indonesia will face chaos. He asked citizens to trust the safe and controlled national conditions. “So, the public should not worry,” Teddy stated.

On the same occasion, Teddy also addressed pessimistic observers regarding Indonesia. He described them as not speaking based on data and facts.

“Everything is stable, everything is under control; let us all work together to achieve the best moving forward,” he said.

Teddy acknowledged that differing opinions and criticism are acceptable. “But we should not make statements that lead to anxiety, making people anxious about this nation,” he added.

Nevertheless, Teddy is confident that the public trusts the government more than observers. “Those observers have influenced citizens, but what is the fact? The fact is that more than 96 million citizens trust Pak Prabowo more than them. That is real evidence of public trust, not mere assumption,” he explained.
